Impressive Standard Chartered Hanoi Marathon Heritage Race 2025
Standard Chartered Hanoi Marathon Heritage Race 2025 last weekend completed its two official competition days, marking a successful season with the participation of over 15,000 runners, out of a record number of nearly 20,000 registrations.
The competitions featured the 5km and 2.1km kids' distances on Saturday, November 8, and the 42km, 21km, and 10km distances on Sunday, November 9.
The 2025 season had a significant increase in the number of international athletes, with 2,500 international runners from nearly 70 countries, almost doubling the figure from the 2024 season.
This impressive growth demonstrates the stature of the Standard Chartered Hanoi Marathon Heritage Race with the largest number of international athletes in Vietnam, affirming its attraction and the opportunity for local marathon to reach international heights.
The 2025 season was a playground for domestic and international athletes, providing a chance for Vietnamese runners to gain experience with the world's leading runners.
The race also saw the participation of many professional athletes and running clubs competing alongside the running community across four distances: marathon (42.195 km), half marathon (21.097 km), 10 km, and 5 km.
At the award ceremony, Nguyen Thuy Hanh, CEO cum head of Corporate and Institutional Banking, Standard Chartered Vietnam, said: "As the Title Sponsor of the Standard Chartered Hanoi Heritage Marathon 2025, we are delighted that the race has become an iconic international event in Vietnam, attracting thousands of domestic and international athletes, encouraging and motivating the community to maintain a healthy and active lifestyle."
"The race is also a testament to the bank's long-term commitment to sustainable values and social responsibility that the bank has implemented throughout over 120 years of presence in Vietnam. We would also like to sincerely thank our partners and customers who have accompanied the bank in the second season and in meaningful fundraising activities for the community," she added.
In addition to the race activities, the Expo took place in three days from November 7 to 9 with many exciting activities from sponsors and businesses. The broad participation of businesses in a sports event shows that marathon is becoming increasingly popular and attracting community interest.
The three-day event brought a truly impressive sporting atmosphere from over 15,000 athletes, as well as exciting entertainment activities on the weekend.
