Construction began Friday of a $77-million “clean” industrial park covering 143.08 hectares in the northern province of Hung Yen.

Project investors are several Vietnamese and South Korean businesses including TDH Ecoland JSC, Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH), Shinhan Bank, and others.

They have committed themselves to completing the project in 36 months from the date of land transfer.

The project, which straddles the districts of Khoai Chau and An Thi, was approved by the Prime Minister in July 2021.

It is a major step forward in the marking of the 30th anniversary of Vietnam-South Korea ties, Hung Yen Chairman Tran Quoc Van said at the ground-breaking ceremony.

The industrial park, with its proximity to the Hanoi-Hai Phong and Cau Gie-Ninh Binh expressways, will aim to attract investors in “clean” sectors that carry low risks of environmental pollution, the investors said.
