Apple supplier Luxshare-ICT looks for 1,000 new workers in central Vietnam

Luxshare-ICT (Nghe An) Limited, a subsidiary of major Chinese electronics producer Luxshare-ICT and a supplier for Apple Inc., is recruiting an additional 1,010 laborers after the Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday, as the firm anticipates rising orders.

The figure is equivalent to 10.6% of the company’s current workforce in the central province. Luxshare-ICT (Nghe An), located at the VSIP Nghe An Industrial Park, said it would offer transportation, accommodation and attractive wages for the new workers.

Similarly, the Luxshare-ICT unit in the northern province of Bac Giang is recruiting 1,300 workers.

The recruitment is part of Luxshare-ICT’s expansion in Vietnam, with a final target of employing 80,000 people for its six factories in the country.

Luxshare-ICT recently received approval to increase its registered capital in Bac Giang province project by $330 million. The firm will disburse the additional investment in 12-24 months, raising its total investment in the province to $504 million.

Prior to the latest investment, Luxshare-ICT had invested about $600 million in Vietnam, including $270 million in Bac Giang and $330 million in Nghe An.

In February, Bac Giang's Management Board of Industrial Parks said foreign-invested businesses in the province were recruiting over 13,000 workers. Bac Giang units of Apple supplier Foxconn, including Fukang Technology Co., Ltd., Fuyu Precision Technology Co., Ltd., and New Wing Interconnect Technology Co., Ltd. have said their post-Tet recruitment targets are 3,080; 2,550; and 2,400, respectively.
