Chinese director arrested for killing female accountant in southern Vietnam

A Chinese man has been arrested for the brutal murder of a female Vietnamese accountant at Vinh Thuan Company in Binh Duong province.

A Chinese man has been arrested for the brutal murder of a female Vietnamese accountant at Vinh Thuan Company in Binh Duong province.

Yang Zhong Wu, 48, was arrested by police forces from Binh Duong and Gia Lai provinces on Thursday evening in Gia Lai.

Security camera footage showed Yang Zhong Wu talking to the woman on Wednesday afternoon at Vinh Nhuan Company in Khanh Binh ward, Tan Uyen township.

At one point, the 30-year-old female knelt on the floor. Moments later, Wu pulled a knife out and stabbed her several times. When the victim ran towards the toilet, the perpetrator took out another knife and fatally stabbed her again.

Several workers at Vinh Nhuan Company heard a loud scream, and then saw Yang Zhong Wu get into a pickup truck and drive away. It was then they discovered Ly Thi Mai lying dead in a pool of blood.

Mai was eight weeks pregnant, and had not worked at the company for nearly two years.

According to the victim's relatives, the conflict between the director and the accountant arose when Wu thought Mai had colluded with other staff to steal from the company.

In addition, due to economic difficulties, the company's clients had failed to pay their bills, which Wu blamed on the accountant.

Vinh Thuan Company is involved in trading building materials and equipment.
