The Czech-based DAILY PLAN JSC is seeking to open a pilot training school and expand its mining project in the central province of Quang Binh.

Quang Binh Bohemia Kaolin Co., Ltd, a subsidiary of DAILY PLAN, was licensed to annually exploit 189,000 tons of kaolin clay minerals on an area of 8.1 hectares in the central province from September 2015, for 13 years or 2.5 million tons in total, with an investment capital of $15.3 million.

As the operation was negatively impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic and the factory has doubled its capacity and utilized all its resources for production without waste, the firm suggested the province allow it to study a larger area for exploitation, its executive Milos Philipp Strajt told Quang Binh leaders in a meeting Wednesday.

In reply, Quang Binh Vice Chairman Phan Manh Hung asked the business to carefully check the plan as the unexploited resources are about two million tons and the exploitation duration will still last for some years.

Kaolin is a key raw element in the production of construction materials, including ceramics, tiles, paints, among others. Bac Ly Kaolin mine in Quang Binh province is among the biggest ones in Vietnam, with a reserve of 19 million tons.

Hung lauded the pilot training school initiative and hoped it would be realized soon.
