The fireworks displays would happen in the Han River port area. There will be eight participating teams including Vietnam who will display their prowess over five nights - four nights of competition and one finale.

Each team will perform their interpretation of the theme chosen for DIFF 2023 for 20-22 minutes. The DIFF 2023 will have first and second prizes of $10,000 and $5,000, respectively, with a trophy and a certificate.

The festival has had 10 editions, becoming a prominent "brand" for Danang and Vietnam's tourism market.

The festival was suspended in 2020 over the Covid-19 pandemic. Vietnam fully reopened its tourism doors on March 15 with international flights restored after the Covid-19 pandemic was deemed under control.

The country received 2.36 million international arrivals in the first 10 months of the year, 18.8 times year-on-year, but down 83.7% compared to the same period in pre-pandemic 2019.

Tourism revenues in the period reached VND19,700 billion ($792 million), 3.9 times year-on-year.
