Flight attendant Vo Thi My Hanh, 26, was arrested by the criminal police department (PC02) under Ho Chi Minh City Police on Thursday for the act of brokering prostitution.

On Wednesday evening, PC02 coordinated with District 1 Police to raid a hotel on Le Thi Rieng street, Ben Thanh ward, and found four women selling sex.

The police said that three of them were flight attendants, while the other was a model.

The four women said Hanh had offered them $1,000 per client, and the price increased three times if they stayed overnight. Hanh received the money from customers and kept a "brokerage fee" of VND7 million ($294) each time.

Hanh said she had quit her job as a flight attendant a few months ago and now manages about 30 women including colleagues from airlines and models. Guests contact Hanh through social networking applications to negotiate prices.

According to the investigative agency, in addition to brokering, Hanh also sold sex. Hanh built the image of a successful person on social networks with more than 300,000 followers. She flaunts a luxurious life and travels to famous places and wears expensive branded clothes to attract girls.

Clients mainly came from Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Ba Ria-Vung Tau. The investigative agency initially estimated that Hanh had obtained illicit profits of over one billion Vietnamese dong (VND1 billion = $42,090).

The agency is expanding the case, calling on the people involved to surrender.
