Testerman has spent nearly his entire adult life working internationally as a corporate and investment banking executive, mainly with JP Morgan and Banco Santander, living in New York, Antwerp, Brussels, London, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Miami, Panama, Mexico, and Vietnam.

He has particular specializations in international capital markets, trade finance, and governance issues in the financial sector, said AmCham Vietnam in HCMC.

Testerman moved to HCMC, Vietnam’s economic powerhouse, in 2014, and launched his HCMC-based consulting firm Testerman Advisory, LLC. targeting emerging market banks, and offering advisory services in sustainable finance which integrates environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria into business or investment decisions.

He was co-founder and inaugural co-chair of AmCham Vietnam’s ESG Committee. He has served on AmCham Vietnam’s board of governors since January 2022.

Testerman said: “The year 2023 will bring great opportunities, and inevitably some challenges, for the economies of both the U.S. and Vietnam.

“AmCham will reinforce its close collaboration with the U.S. business community in Vietnam with the U.S. Mission and with the Vietnamese government to continue to strengthen the important trade relationship between the two countries.

“We look forward to contributing to the sustainable growth of commerce in the interest of AmCham members.”

During the AmCham Vietnam HCMC meeting on Tuesday, the board also elected Winnie Wong, Mastercard country manager in Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos, as vice chair; Walt Power, The Grand Ho Tram CEO, as vice chair; Ace Wilson, Intel Products Vietnam’s chief financial officer, as treasurer; and Leonardo Garcia, general manager, Coca-Cola Vietnam and Cambodia, as secretary.
