Home Credit responds to police presence at headquarters

Ho Chi Minh City police worked with Home Credit Vietnam on Tuesday as part of their checks being carried out on consumer finance companies, the firm said.

"The police's check is related to our fire-prevention and business activities," Home Credit added.

Police officers were present at the company's HCMC headquarters in Thu Duc city from 10 a.m. till the early afternoon. Police have recently been inspecting debt-collecting entities and consumer finance companies.

Home Credit, a global consumer finance company, entered the Vietnamese market in 2008. A major player in the sector, it currently has about 6,000 employees serving more than 14 million customers across the country.

The firm is mainly engaged in personal installment loans, cash loans, and credit cards.
