He said Japfa aimed to optimize operational efficiency and build a flexible and responsive business model.

"In the long term, we will focus on applying advanced production technologies and creating a cohesive work environment, Tan said, adding that wherever it operated, the company looked to share prosperity with local communities.

In his previous post, Tan had led implementation of key programs for Vietnam including business model development, overall resource management for the pig farming industry, and optimization of business operations.

Japfa Vietnam started operations in 1996 and became a 100%-foreign-invested firm in 1999. Its latest projects in Vietnam are a feed mill and a poultry slaughterhouse that opened in May this year. Alongside the above mentioned facilities, Japfa Vietnam operates four poultry hatcheries, seven animal feed factories, and 30 chicken farms that supply over 100 million chicks to the market annually.
