Japan's Nikkiso Co., Ltd. has appointed a business development manager in Vietnam to expand its interests in gas, aircraft parts and medical equipment.

A Wednesday announcement said Nguyen Cong Thanh will be the business development manager in Vietnam for Nikkiso Clean Energy & Industrial Gases, or CE&IG, a unit of Nikkiso.

Nikkiso said that Cong, based in Hanoi, will be responsible for growing CE&IG’s industrial gas and LNG business, providing solutions from its industrial products line, and offering service and local support.

He will also work to heighten the Japanese brand’s awareness among a broad range of local customers for Nikkiso’s three major business lines. Nikkiso operates several factories manufacturing aircraft parts and medical devices in Japan.

Prior to the Nikkiso job, Cong was the business development manager at Hanoi-based Vietnam Industrial Gas JSC.

“His industry and international business experience combined with his knowledge of the local market will be of great benefit as we work to develop opportunities in Southeast Asia,” said Tim Born, Southeast Asia vice president of CE&IG.

CE&IG includes five functional units - pumps, cryogenic processing systems, heat exchange systems, cryogenic services and integrated cryogenic solutions. It also builds plants for industrial gases, LNG, hydrogen liquefaction, and organic Rankine cycle for waste heat recovery.

Vietnam is promoting the development of cleaner energy sources like solar, wind, LNG, hydrogen and biomass as it seeks to fulfil its carbon neutrality commitment by 2050.
