State-run Petrovietnam is accelerating digital transformation in the group and all its subsidiaries to bolster innovation and business efficiency.

Under a new resolution on implementing digital transformation in the group until 2025, with a vision to 2030, the group identifies digital transformation as a must to increase productivity, quality, and competitiveness.

However, digital transformation also poses great requirements like changing business culture, reshaping development strategies, repositioning supply chains, and restructuring to accommodate new business platforms, it said.

According to the group, digital transformation creates new drivers for its growth. Therefore, synchnourous implementation across all group businesses and units needs to be achieved by 2030.

Governance of the digital ecosystem "PVNDigiEcoSystem" requires the company to gradually change its business culture and give its employees new skills, towards achieving long-term goals of improving business efficiency and bringing added value to customers.

Petrovietnam pumped 5.48 million tons of crude oil in the first six months of the year, surpassing the set target by 23%.

The group’s revenue in the period was estimated at VND468,300 billion ($20 billion), up 55% year-on-year and double the goal set for the six months.
