The chairman, general director, and two deputy general directors of Vietnam Coal and Minerals Group (Vinacomin) were disciplined Wednesday for violating regulations on management and exploitation of coal.
The Party Central Inspection Committee has taken disciplinary action against Le Minh Chuan, chief of Vinacomin’s Party Committee and chairman of the state-run group; Dang Thanh Hai, deputy chief of the Party committee and general director; and Nguyen Ngoc Co, deputy general director. Phan Xuan Thuy, deputy general director, was reprimanded.
The inspection committee concluded that the standing board of Vinacomin’s Party Committee had violated the principle of democratic centralism and working regulations, lacked responsibility, and showed loose leadership, direction and supervision.
“As a result, the group’s council of members and leaders violated the Party’s regulations and the State laws in production, business, and project investment, as well as coal mining and management in Quang Ninh province. Many cadres and Party members were disciplined, while some faced criminal charges.”
The inspectors determined that the above-mentioned violations “have caused serious consequences, adversely affecting Vinacomin’s production and business results, as well as the reputation of Party organizations and the group.”
