This is the third route connecting Cam Ranh to countries in Southeast Asia. Vietnam Airlines is operating the Singapore-Cam Ranh route, while AirAsia has flights on the Kuala Lumpur-Cam Ranh route.

Cam Ranh lies in a bay in the southern province of Khanh Hoa, and is home to Nha Trang, one of Vietnam's top resort towns.

Thai AirAsia will use Don Muang International Airport (Don Muong) in Bangkok as base for this route with a frequency of two flights per week, on Mondays and Fridays.

Thai AirAsia reopening the Bangkok-Cam Ranh route will contribute to attracting Thai tourists to Khanh Hoa and help travel businesses in the province open tours to Thailand, according to the provincial Department of Tourism.

Vietnam has abolished its Covid-19 testing requirement for people entering the country since May 15. Meanwhile, Thailand has officially lifted all medical regulations on entry from July 1.

Thai AirAsia is a budget airline under Thai AirAsia Company, a limited company incorporated in Thailand. Its parent company is Asia Aviation Public Company Limited, which is listed in the Stock Exchange of Thailand.
