The event, themed “A matter of urgency: Completing the legal framework to develop green credit, green bonds”, is a collaboration between The Investor and the Institute of Strategy and Policy on Natural Resources and Environment, under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.

Green transition is a key policy for Vietnam and is stipulated in government statements and documents towards the goal of net zero emissions by 2050. It is estimated that Vietnam will have to mobilize $368-380 billion until 2040, equivalent to 6.8% of GDP every year, to make the green transition and tackle climate change.

Despite the great potential, the current green credit and green bond market in Vietnam is facing challenges, including those related to mechanisms/policies and collaboration between ministries in issuing the national green taxonomy.

The event will feature officials from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the State Bank of Vietnam, financial-economic experts, banks, stock brokerages, businesses, credit rating organizations, international institutions, and the press.

The seminar is to take place at No. 65, Van Mieu street, Dong Da district, Hanoi.
