Two foreigners die in central Vietnam motorbike accident

Two British tourists died in an accident on Sunday while driving a motorbike in Quang Nam province, according to National Traffic Safety Committee.

Two British tourists died in an accident on Sunday while driving a motorbike in Quang Nam province, according to National Traffic Safety Committee.

At 4 p.m. on Sunday, two British nationals - a male aged 25 and female aged 24, rode a motorbike from Hoi An ancient town to Dien Ban town. On Hung Vuong Street in Hoi An, the motorbike crashed into a power pole on the sidewalk, killing them on the spot.

The accident occurred along a bend in the road, amid dry conditions and little traffic. The motorbike had suffered little damage.

According to local authorities, the tourists had resided in a hotel in Hoi An. Police has handed over the case to provincial officials for investigation.
