Scoular, a leading agricultural corporation in the U.S., has added Vietnam to its Asia-Pacific distribution footprint as part of its Southeast Asian business expansion.

“We are excited to continue expanding our presence in the region. Scoular invests in ways that solve problems and add value for our customers and suppliers, and many of our customers already have a footprint in Vietnam,” Adrian Gasparian, President of Scoular Asia, said on Wednesday.

Gasparian added he anticipated imports and distribution to begin by the end of 2022.

The Nebraska-based company’s Vietnam office is located at the heart of Ho Chi Minh City's District 1. It has hired two staff members in the country and expects to increase the headcount to 12, including a country manager, within the coming months.

Scoular’s foray into the Vietnamese market follows the company’s Asia-Pacific expansions over the past few years, including an expanded regional headquarters and trade office in Singapore, soybean cleaning and distribution operations in Indonesia, feedstuffs and grain distribution operations in Indonesia and Myanmar, and opening a fishmeal facility in Myanmar this March.

The firm has become a leading feedstuffs, grains and oilseeds distributor in Indonesia and Myanmar. In 2021, Scoular ranked 16th on FoodTalks' Global Top 40 Plant Protein Companies list.
