US business delegation seeks partners in HCMC

Vietnam International Sourcing 2023, which will take place from September 13-15, and is being held by the ITPC in coordination with the European-American Market Department under the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

It is expected that Avineesh Gupta, executive vice president of Walmart Group, will make a presentation on global consumption trends, restructuring of the international supply chain, and Vietnam's role in the current context.

On Thursday (September 14) afternoon, Vietnamese suppliers will have the opportunity to work with Walmart through a seminar to connect with the retail group.

In addition to Walmart, American corporations such as Boeing and AES will also be present in HCMC during the Vietnam-U.S. trade forum. A representative from Boeing will share an article on the topic "Vietnam: A potential location in the aviation industry supply chain."

American businesses are seeking more partners in Vietnam after U.S. President Biden's visit on September 10-11.

Vietnam and the U.S. have agreed to raise bilateral ties to a comprehensive strategic partnership, the highest in Vietnam’s diplomatic hierarchy, during President Joe Biden’s visit to Hanoi. The upgrade takes Vietnam-U.S. relations on a par with Vietnam's relationships with China, Russia, India and South Korea. 

The U.S. is Vietnam's largest export market and second biggest trade partner, behind only China. The U.S. became the first market to which Vietnam's exports surpassed $100 billion in 2022.
