Vietnamese tycoon-chaired Sasco’s 2022 profit soars by 77 times

Southern Airports Services JSC, with well-known billionaire Johnathan Hanh Nguyen as its chairman, has reported a 2022 pre-tax profit of around VND230 billion ($9.8 million), 77 times higher than in 2021, when airports were often closed due to the pandemic.

The Ho Chi Minh City-based company, better known as Sasco, had set its 2022 pre-tax profit target at VND82 billion ($3.5 million), a little higher than one-third of the performance reported by the firm. The 2022 result was also the company’s highest in the three years.

It delivered total revenue of VND1.4 trillion ($59.72 million) last year, a four-fold increase over the previous year.

As of end-2022, Sasco's total assets were a little higher than VND2.04 trillion ($87 million), around VND500 billion ($21.33 million) higher than the beginning of the year.

Its total current debts are about VND520 billion ($22.2 million), four times higher than 12 months before.
