Vietnamese electric vehicle (EV) maker VinFast rolled out its first mini electric car, VF 3, in the domestic market on Thursday.
VF 3 is the first mini car model researched and developed by VinFast based on the characteristics and traffic habits of Vietnamese consumers, the company said in a release.
The model has two side doors, one rear trunk door, and five seats. It is available with different color options for wider customer choice, and two engine versions - Eco and Plus.
VinFast will take in VF 3 orders starting in September and plans to make deliveries in the third quarter of 2024.
With the new mini car, the firm’s EV product line-up covers all sizes. Prior to the latest model, the line-up comprised six grades from A to E, namely VF 5 Plus, VF e34, VF 6, VF 7, VF 8, and VF 9.
In addition to the Vietnamese market, VinFast is expanding in the U.S., Canada, and Europe. It plans to build a manufacturing complex in North Carolina with an initial investment of $2 billion, expecting to open the facility in 2025.
