According to TripAdvisor, taking a cooking class is a fun and interesting way to experience rural life and Vietnamese cuisine in Hoi An town, the central province of Quang Nam. The ancient town, one of Vietnam's top tourist attractions, is a UNESCO-recognized heritage site.

"In this special tour, The Hoi An Village Experience would like to bring guests to a peaceful, quiet and picturesque fishing village named Cam Thanh, about five kilometers from Hoi An ancient town."

The tour, named Hoi An Eco Tour & Cooking Class, continues from the market directly onto bamboo basket boats to explore the canals of the Bay Mau Nipa forest.

"You will be immersed in the natural beauty of the nipa palm forest and enjoy crabs fishing. This is so cool! you have a chance to contemplate the river beauty in the countryside of Vietnam, the traditional way of catching fish as well as the lives of the hospitable fishermen here," the article read.

After these eco-tour activities, participants will be welcomed in the restaurant and participate in cooking around for two hours with a local chef to create dishes symbolic of the town. The whole tour will last five hours and cost $31.49 per adult.

Hoi An is home to many ancient houses, Pagoda Bridge built by Japanese in the early 17th century, and Quan Cong Temple. "In this one-time trading port, Thu Bon River meanders past crumbling shop houses and weathered pagodas, while sampans come and go from the old ferry quay. On the 14th day of each lunar month, the town trades its electric lights for traditional colored lanterns."
