American direct selling heavyweight Amway has inaugurated a major experience center in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam’s largest economic hub.

“We are confident about the Vietnamese market’s strong development potential. This new Amway Center, which offers more functions and experiences to customers, will put Amway Vietnam into the race among Amway’s leading markets,” Asha Gupta, the group’s regional president for Asia, said at the launch in late August.

The 1,800-square meter facility in District 3 houses shopping areas, a food court, and areas for advice on nutrition, beauty care, and healthcare, together with a 500-seater hall.

Amway Vietnam said opening the facility in HCMC, where it is based, is another move to show its commitment to the Vietnamese market, where it began selling products in 2008. The company opened an experience facility in Can Tho, the Mekong Delta hub, this June.

Michigan-headquartered Amway makes and directly sells health, beauty, and home care products across the world, and is seen as the world’s largest network marketing company.

Amway is operating two manufacturing facilities in Dong Nai and Binh Duong provinces, both bordering HCMC. The Dong Nai factory, a $12 million investment, was built in 2013 and followed by the $25 million Binh Duong plant’s opening in 2015.
