The plant, built with an original investment of VND2 trillion ($81.2 million) on an area of 25 hectares at the Chu Lai Industrial Park, began operations in March 2017.

With an annual output of 500 million liters, it employs 400 workers and creates indirect jobs for more than 1,000 others. It earned revenues of VND3 trillion ($122 million) last year.

Number One Chu Lai is one of four plants operated by Tan Hiep Phat, the other three located in the southern provinces of Binh Duong and Hau Giang and the northern province of Ha Nam. Its products serve the domestic market and are exported to two dozen foreign markets.

During his visit, Triet hailed the group’s performance despite the hardships it has faced, and pledged support for the planned expansion.
