Agribusiness heavyweight De Heus has inaugurated the De Heus Vinh Long Shrimp Feed Mill with an annual capacity of 50,000 tons in the Mekong Delta province of Vinh Long.
The 2.93-hectare state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, opened Tuesday, underscored De Heus's commitment to making long-term, strategic investments in Vietnam, the firm said.
“We are committed to sustainable practices and environmental protection through innovative technologies for the future of Vietnamese shrimp aquaculture,” said Co de Heus, CEO of the Royal De Heus Group.
Johan van den Ban, general director of De Heus Vietnam, said that with the latest investment, “we are again showing the aquaculture market in general and the shrimp industry specifically that we are here to stay.”
After entering Vietnam in 2008, De Heus made a major move in late 2021 by acquiring 14 factories from Vietnamese conglomerate Masan, which focuses on fast moving consumer goods (FMCG).
De Hues and its Vietnamese partner Hung Nhon Group, a major agribusiness, plan to increase their annual revenue to $2 billion by 2030.
Towards this, Hung Nhon will build large-scale modern farming facilities and De Heus will provide animal breeders, including 37,500 pig breeders for the Central Highlands, southeastern and southwestern regions; and 83 million chicken breeders and chickens for Tay Ninh province.
