Former Vice Chancellor of Germany joins Vietravel Airlines

Former Vice Chancellor and Federal Minister of Economics and Technology of Germany Philipp Rösler has joined Vietravel Airlines as an independent member of the board of directors.

Former Vice Chancellor and Federal Minister of Economics and Technology of Germany Philipp Rösler has joined Vietravel Airlines as an independent member of the board of directors.

Vietravel Airlines announced that Vu Duc Bien, a board member and general director, had stepped down for the 2022-2027 term due to family reasons on October 23 during a shareholders' meeting.

Philipp Rösler will advise the company's strategic direction in expanding international cooperation, serving as a bridge between the company and investors in Europe and Asia-Pacific.

Besides Philipp Rösler, Doan Hai Dang was elected by shareholders a new board member for the 2022–2027 term. Dang is general director of World Transportation Services JSC (World Trans), a new shareholder in Vietravel Airlines.

Philipp Rösler was born in Vietnam in 1973. He has more than 30 years of experience in the field of economics, holding important positions at large global corporations such as Siemens, Deutsche Bahn and Lufthansa. Rösler currently holds the position of chairman of the international advisory board of VinaCapital Ventures.

He was a minister of economy and technology, minister of health, and chairman of the Free Democratic Party FDP in Germany. After leaving politics, Rösler has focused his activities on Vietnam. In 2020, he joined Loc Troi as an independent member of the board of directors.
