FPT, Vietnam's leading information technology corporation, recorded a pre-tax profit of VND3,637 billion ($155 million) in the first six months of the year, up 23.9% year-on-year.
Its revenue during the period reached VND19,826 billion ($846 million), a 22.2% increase.
Domestic and overseas information technology services contributed 57% of the group's revenue and 45% of pre-tax profit, respectively.
Revenue from overseas information technology services reached $368 million, up 29% year-on-year, with pre-tax profit in the division rising 28.4% to more than $58 million.
In this area, revenue from the U.S market surged 48.4%, while growth in the Asia-Pacific and Japanese markets was 55.5% and 18%, respectively.
FPT's telecom revenue and pre-tax profits in the first half reached $302 million and $61.7 million, up 15.5% and 40% over the same period last year, respectively.
Strong demand for education in the information technology industry helped the corporation earn $82.6 million in revenue, up 42%.
FPT targets a revenue of $1.81 billion and pre-tax profit of $325 million this year, up 10% and 20.2% year-on-year, respectively.
