Per the Ha Tinh planning in 2021-2030 approved by the government, with vision until 2050, the six projects would include golf courses, urban areas and tourism facilities. The locations are Ky Anh town, Thien Cam township, Cam Xuyen district, Ha Tinh town, Loc Ha district, and Thach Ha district.

In addition to the 18-hole Xuan Thanh golf course, invested by Honglam Xuanthanh JSC., currently the only golf course in Ha Tinh, six businesses eye to study golf course projects in the central province.

In December 2020, Hanoi-based multi-sector business Apec Group JSC proposed a project of Apec Mandala golf course and another of Apec Mandala Grand relaxation tourism-commerce-service complex in Thach Ha district, covering 696 hectares.

In May 2021, GS Holding JSC recommended a VND1 trillion ($40.25 million) complex of golf courses, hotels, and villas in Loc Ha district. A month later, the province approved the business to sponsor project planning.

In early 2022, D&N Group JSC sought Ha Tinh’s permission to study and set up planning for a 600-hectare golf course complex in Cam Xuyen district. The VND6,000 billion ($241.5 million) project would feature a five-star resort, condotels, entertainment area, a 36-hole golf course, and others.

Another three golf projects proposed in the province are a 36-hole course covering 150 hectares in Thien Cam town, invested by FLC Group; a 100-hecatre course with 18 holes in Ha Tinh town, invested by Crystal Bay Group; and a golf training course in Ha Tinh town, invested by Eco Land JSC.

A Ha Tinh-based real estate expert said golf projects would help the province attract investments in tourism, properties, and other sectors. Ha Tinh has a high potential for golf thanks to its long coast and large area. Golf course projects in the provincial planning are expected to become a socio-economic driver for Ha Tinh.

Prior to the Covid-19 pandemic, golf courses in Vietnam welcomed about three million players in 2019, including 1.5 million foreign ones, gaining a revenue of VND4,500 billion ($181 million), according to the Vietnam Golf Tourism Association.

Ha Tinh is an emerging manufacturing hub in central Vietnam. The province is home to the Taiwanese-invested Formosa Ha Tinh Steel Corporation (FHS), one of the biggest foreign-invested projects in Vietnam, and notable ones like the two electric vehicle battery production plants of Vingroup.
