Vietnam’s northern province of Hung Yen granted investment certificates to two foreign investments with total registered capital of $138 million on Tuesday.

Vietnam’s northern province of Hung Yen granted investment certificates to two foreign investments with total registered capital of $138 million on Tuesday.

Acecook Vietnam JSC, under Japanese instant noodle maker Acecook, received an investment certificate for an $88 million venture. The 10.2-hectare project, located in Thang Long II Industrial Park, will manufacture instant noodles, instant pho (noodle soup), rice noodles, vermicelli, and seasonings for the products.

Taiwan’s Lioho Machine Works Ltd. and Japan’s Ibara Seiki Co., Ltd. also obtained an investment certificate for a $50 million project. The 10-hectare project, also in Thang Long II Industrial Park, will manufacture components for vehicles, motorbikes, agricultural machinery, and pumps.

With the latest projects, Thang Long II Industrial Park has accepted six investments with total registered capital of $370 million so far this year.

In the period, industrial parks in Hung Yen province have attracted 57 investments with total registered capital of $955 million, its highest-ever figure.

In the year to November 20, Hung Yen attracted foreign direct investment (FDI) of $753.4 million, up 2.9% year-on-year. The province’s figure ranked 12th among all provinces and cities, according to the Ministry of Planning and Investment.
