The corporation, in a recent request to the regulator (SSC), said it had been affected by the pandemic until the beginning of 2022, and many of its staff members have had to work under social distancing conditions. "Therefore, the carrier must prioritize finishing its 2021 audited financial statement, and could not complete the financial report for the first quarter of this year as scheduled."

However, Vietnam Airlines, with the state being its majority shareholder, did not specify the time needed to finish its Q1 report. The SSC has since asked the corporation to complete it soon as the law regulates the report must be publicized within 20 days after each quarter ends.

The regulator also required the carrier to release its 2021 audited financial statements and annual report as soon as possible.

Vietnam Airlines's unaudited revenue in Q4/2021 reached VND9,212 billion (nearly $403 million), up 13% year-on-year. Total revenue in 2021 reached $1.23 billion, a 31% decline from 2020.
