Southern Vietnam town attracts $1.5 bln investment

Kien Giang province authorities have granted investment memoranda to 16 companies to invest in 17 projects in Ha Tien town with combined investment capital of VND37.25 trillion ($1.5 billion).

Kien Giang province authorities have granted investment memoranda to 16 companies to invest in 17 projects in Ha Tien town with combined investment capital of VND37.25 trillion ($1.5 billion).

At a Friday conference announcing the master plan for Ha Tien town and its border gate economic zone until 2040, they awarded a decision to EnterLand Development Investment Co., Ltd. to develop the Mui Nai and Tien Hai luxury resort projects respectively in Phao Dai ward and Tien Hai commune.

Newstarland Real Estate Commercial Development Co., Ltd. will build a luxury resort named Bai No in Phao Dai ward, while Tu Trieu Phu Co., Ltd. will implement the Hon Doc residential area, eco-tourism and resort project in Tien Hai commune.

The four projects will cover 16.35 hectares with total investment of VND2.46 trillion ($99.5 million).

According to the master plan, Ha Tien will become an international border gate urban area for culture, administration, science-technology, education-training, and coastal tourism. 

The master plan covers about 34,800 hectares, including 10,049 hectares within Ha Tien town’s administrative boundaries including Binh San, Dong Ho, Phao Dai, To Chau and My Duc wards, Thuan Yen and Tien Hai communes; and 24,751 hectares of sea surface located off Tien Hai island.

The town will feature a traditional urban area; a sightseeing, history, culture and heritage tourism urban area; a submerged eco-tourism, shopping, transit resort tourism, logistics and border-gate urban area; a hi-tech agriculture, industry and community tourism urban area; and a marine ecology, discovery tourism and thematic tourism urban area.

There will be a port and an airport serving tourism and synchronous infrastructure connecting to Phu Quoc and vicinities.

Minister of Construction Nguyen Thanh Nghi has asked Kien Giang to ensure construction projects are in line with regulations and approved plans.

He also asked the province to issue an urban development plan and architectural management regulations to manage and create signature works with unique characteristics towards making Ha Tien town a tier-2 urban area.
