Tran Thi Ngoc Trinh, dubbed the ‘underwear queen’ in Vietnam, had been known as CEO of Blobal Herbeauty JSC and vice chairwoman and founding shareholder of NT Beauty JSC before she was arrested for allegedly causing social disorder.
The 34-year-old model and entrepreneur was arrested Thursday for performing stunts on a bike that she did not have a license to drive. She drew attention to her illegal acts by posting the image of her stunts on social media.
Ho Chi Minh City police determined that Trinh, despite not having a license for driving large displacement motorcycles, rode a 999 cc BMW motorbike on a road in the HCMC Hi-Tech Park in Thu Duc city’s Tang Nhon Phu B ward and performed dangerous acts like lying and kneeling on the motorbike while not wearing any safety gear. The incident happened two weeks ago (October 6).
Global Herbeauty JSC or GHB specializes in selling pharmaceuticals, functional foods and organic cosmetics. The company, established January 8, 2018, does sell pharmaceutical products and functional foods, but its main registered business is the production of movies, videos and television programs.
While Trinh had been rumoured as CEO of Global Herbeauty JSC, the company's records in the national business registration system do not show that she had ever been in that position. Updated information as of September 2022 indicates that the company's CEO and legal representative was Dam Quang Hung, a male born in 1976.
Ngoc Trinh is also a founding shareholder with a 5% equity in NT Beauty JSC, established in March 2023. She has been introduced as vice chairwoman of the company.
NT Beauty owns the UME Vietnam brand that sells a perilla female hygiene solution. NT Beauty said that after only a few months on the market (from around mid-2023), the UME Vietnam feminine hygiene solution had attracted more than 500 million views on TikTok. It was also named as a top three seller on TikTok Shop.
In May 2021, Trinh gathered public attention with a Meta or Facebook post of an image of a virtual currency account worth nearly 187 Bitcoins, worth over $10.4 million then. In addition to Bitcoin, the “underwear queen” once revealed investments in virtual currencies SHIB and DOGE.
Ngoc Trinh, a native of Tra Vinh province in the Mekong Delta region, is well known for sporting sexy outfits from the time she began her fashion career at 16 and competed in a beauty contest.
