Vietnam has emerged as a country that successfully responsed to the Covid-19 pandemic, with strong global integration, political stability, stable macroeconomy, flexible monetary and fiscal policies, high economic growth, and tamed inflation, amid global political and economic turbulences, according to the VAFIE.

The country is also highly rated by international organizations, governments of some countries, as well as foreign businesses and investors as a nation of high potential, a worth-living and worth-working destination with capability for further growth.

However, due to the unpredictable situation of global politics, economy and market; negative impacts of natural disasters, climate change and diseases, Vietnam will have to update its policies, science and technology; and upgrade its workforce to proactively respond to all developments, fulfilling its 2021-2030 development goals.

VAFIE’s report aims to analyze the achievements, problems, opportunities, and challenges for Vietnam in cooperating and competing with other nations to efficiently and effectively attract FDI.

The report has three chapters of overview for FDI attraction in the world and ASEAN; attraction and use of FDI; and orientations and solutions for FDI in 2023. The report features information related to economics, trade, and investments inside and outside Vietnam, and surveys of the top 12 localities in terms of FDI attraction in the country.

The report is expected to help realistically and scientifically analyze FDI in Vietnam, pointing out opportunities and challenges, and make recommendations for the nation to further lure and ameliorate the quality and efficiency of FDI projects.
