Vietnam Competition Commission appoints new chairman

The Vietnam Competition Commission (VCC), established at the end of 2022 under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, performs state management functions (competition management; protecting consumer interests; and multi-level business management), as well as litigation and jurisdiction.

Previoulsy, Dung was director of the Trade Remedies Authority of Vietnam from December 2018 and held many other positions at the Ministry of Industry and Trade's (MoIT) Multilateral Trade Policy Department, and the ministry's Office.

The Prime Minister also appointed vice chairpersons of the commission, including Nguyen Thi Quynh Anh, deputy director of the Vietnam Competition and Consumer Authority; Nguyen Thi Quynh Nga, deputy director of the Multilateral Trade Policy Department and Ngo Duc Minh, deputy director of the Department of Legal Affairs, all under the MoIT.

The National Competition Commission can investigate cases related to competition. The entity has the right to collect information and summon witnesses to detect acts of violation.
