Vietnam mall operator Vincom Retail appoints new CEO

Vincom Retail JSC, the largest mall operator in Vietnam, appointed Pham Thi Thu Hien as its new CEO Wednesday, replacing Tran Mai Hoa, who had held the position from April 2016.

Hoa will focus on Vincom Retail’s strategic planning as a board member.

Joining Vincom Retail in 2014, Hien, 46, became deputy general director in charge of business and marketing in March 21.

Also Wednesday, Vu Tuyet Hang, 55, was appointed standing deputy general director of Vincom Retail, in charge of operating the firm’s trade center chain across the country. Hang joined Vingroup, the parent firm of Vincom Retail, in 2005.

Vincom Retail operates 83 trade centers in 44 provinces and cities nationwide with a combined floor area of 1.8 million square meters.

The company reaped consolidated after-tax profits of VND2.02 trillion ($82.6 million) in the first half of this year, up 76% year-on-year. It earned net revenues of VND4.12 trillion ($168 million) in the period, up 27.8% year-on-year.

Its shares, listed on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange as ticker VRE, slid 0.19% to VND26,950 ($1.1) at the break on Wednesday.
