DBG Technology Co. Ltd, a manufacturing partner of China's Xiaomi Inc., has debuted its first batch of Xiaomi smartphones manufactured in Vietnam.

Xiaomi is a Chinese designer and manufacturer of consumer electronics and related software, home appliances, and household items. Previously, Xiaomi smartphones were imported to Vietnam.

The smartphone device factory in Thai Nguyen province, northern Vietnam, which has been in operation since June last year, was built with the goal of not only serving the domestic market, but also exporting to other regional countries like Malaysia and Thailand.

Presently, the manufacturer only produces select models, a Xiaomi representative said.

"We are really excited about the cooperation between Xiaomi and DBG Technology, through which we will join Xiaomi in producing products for the world's leading brand in Vietnam," said Henry Wu, a representative of DBG Technology.

"This not only has a direct impact on the domestic market, but also opens up opportunities to export made-in-Vietnam products to other key markets in the region. The first shipments of Xiaomi products made by its Vietnamese partner have officially arrived at Digiworld's warehouse."

Nguyen Duc Trong, representative of Digiworld, believed that this would assist customers to access a consistent supply while affirming Vietnam's position in the global market for smart devices as a result of the pandemic's shifts in supply.

Digiworld is Vietnam's leading distributor of IT products and mobile phones.
