The Digital Charity Platform, a solution developed and operated by Vietnam's Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank (MB), was recognized at the 2025 World Summit Awards (WSA) in the Government & Citizen Engagement category.

The recognition highlights ongoing efforts to leverage technology to improve transparency, mobilize social resources, and strengthen community participation in humanitarian and charitable activities in Vietnam.

The awarding event took place on May 22 in Vienna, Austria.

The World Summit Awards, launched in 2003 within the framework of the United Nations’ World Summit on the Information Society, honor digital solutions that create positive social impact and contribute to the U.N. Sustainable Development Goals. In 2025, the WSA selected 40 projects from 28 countries across eight categories.

The Government & Citizen Engagement category recognizes digital solutions that strengthen connections between organizations and citizens while promoting transparency, accountability and broader public participation in activities serving the common good.

The Digital Charity Platform provides digital infrastructure for humanitarian and charitable activities with a focus on transparency, convenience and operational efficiency.

At the center of the platform is a four-digit transparent payment account system provided free of charge by MB to organizations and individuals raising donations, with all transactions automatically updated and disclosed in real time.

The platform also includes the Thien Nguyen mobile application, the website thiennguyen.app and integrated digital tools that support campaign creation, donation collection, progress tracking, financial reporting and community engagement.

The Digital Charity Platform operates under principles of transparency, neutrality and non-profit orientation. MB does not charge platform usage fees and does not directly organize, receive or distribute community donations.

During the WSA Global Congress 2026 in Vienna, representatives of the Charity Platform presented to international experts their technology-driven model aimed at improving transparency, accountability and public participation in humanitarian and charitable initiatives.

Chu Hai Cong, director of public relations at MB, said the bank aimed to continue working with organizations, partners and the international community to promote technology initiatives for social impact as science-technology, innovation and digital transformation become increasingly important to sustainable development.

Duong Thi Kim Lien, head of the Impact Technology Village at TECHFEST Vietnam, president of the Institute for Business Innovation (IBIA) and a national expert for WSA in Vietnam, said the platform had addressed “the most difficult issue: trust.”

According to her, the platform’s real-time transparency mechanism and community-based monitoring capabilities have helped it gain adoption in a number of large-scale national and international fundraising campaigns.

The recognition of the Digital Charity Platform at WSA 2025 not only acknowledges the efforts of the development and operations teams and partner organizations, but also helps promote Vietnamese-developed technology solutions for social impact within the global innovation ecosystem.
