Central Vietnam province Quang Ngai to begin work on new VSIP industrial park next year
Vietnam’s central province of Quang Ngai will work with the investor to have construction of VSIP II Quang Ngai, a facility based on the Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP) model, begin in August 2025.
Provincial authorities said this at a Friday meeting with VSIP Quang Ngai Co. Ltd., the project investor. They said the current focus was on site clearance and that the new starting schedule was earlier than the previous target of October 2025.

Binh Son district officials said at the meeting that a 10-hectare area was posing site clearance challenges because construction of the resettlement area was not complete.
They said site clearance of 112 hectares of non-residential area would be completed this month.
Besides, provincial authorities have approved the project investor’s proposal to enlarge its water sewage facility. Local agencies are preparing documents for approval from central authorities.
Quang Ngai Vice Chairman Tran Phuoc Hien noted that some areas of VSIP I Quang Ngai, which has been functioning for more than a decade, were not operational yet. He asked the provincial industrial park authority to redress the situtation.
Hien also requested Son Tinh district officials to prepare an implementation plan for forced site clearance of an area that a local resident has not agreed to transfer yet.
VSIP, a joint venture between Becamex IDC and Singapore’s Sembcorp Development Group, established its first VSIP in Vietnam in 1996. The joint venture now operates 15 VSIP industrial parks in 11 localities across Vietnam, Sembcorp reported in its 2023 performance review.
In December 2023, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang approved a VND3,737 billion ($154 million) first phase investment for the VSIP II Industrial Park in the province’s Dung Quat Economic Zone. The 497.7-hectare project has been granted a 50-year license.
