Danang to light up international fireworks festival in June
The Danang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) 2023 will be held from June 3-July 8 in the central city after a three-year hiatus due to the pandemic.
The DIFF this year will be organized by the People's Committee of Danang and Sun Group at the Han River, with the participation teams from the U.K., Italy, Poland, France, Australia, Canada, and Finlan) and the Vietnamese team from Danang.
The opening night of DIFF 2023 is expected to take place in the evening of June 3, with the opening competition between Vietnam and Finland.
This year's festival is themed "World without distance" to honor the recovery of world tourism after the pandemic. The stage will be set on the Han River as in previous years, and will be decorated with the image of peach bells - one of the symbolic flowers of the city's Ba Na mountain peak.
Each team will have 20 minutes to perform nightly themed fireworks displays agreed by the organizers, including: love without distance, peace for the world, equality for humanity, unlimited creativity, and sustainable tourism development.
During the event, a series of companion events will be held to enhance the experience for visitors to Danang. Famous destinations in the city like Sun World Ba Na Hills and Asia Park will organize festivals, special music and art events.
At DIFF 2019 in the pre-pandemic time, Danang welcomed more than 937,000 tourists. Revenue at tourism companies was estimated at more than VND3,244 billion ($136.8 million).
