Energy giant Petrovietnam CEO promoted to chairman
Le Manh Hung, CEO of state-run Petrovietnam, has been appointed the group's chairman per a prime ministerial decision.

Hung will take on the position for five years, starting January 1, 2024, succeeding Hoang Quoc Vuong, who is poised to retire soon.
The new chairman, born in 1973, holds a PhD degree in petrochemicals. He has held a series of senior positions at Petrovietnam and its subsidiaries before becoming CEO of the group in June 2019.
According to a decision of the Commission for the Management of State Capital at Enterprises in July, Vuong, born in 1963, will retire on January 1 next year.
The Central Commission for Inspection announced on December 20 that Vuong and a number of Ministry of Industry and Trade officials in the 2016-2021 and 2021-2026 terms committed violations and wrongdoings in advising on the stipulation of incentives for solar and wind energy under the Power Development Plan VII and its revised version.
