Hanoi stock exchange appoints new general director
The Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX) has appointed Nguyen Anh Phong as its general director, effective from June 15, 2023.
Phong, born in 1976, holds a master's degree in economics from the Hanoi National Economics University. He has been working in the industry since 1999 as an employee of the State Securities Commission.
Phong started working at the HNX in 2000 and has held the positions of head of different departments (2005 - 2011), deputy general director (2011 - 2021), and acting general director (2021- 2023).
Ngo Thi Lan Huong, deputy chief of the office of the board of members of the Vietnam Exchange (VNX), has been appointed head of the supervisory board of HNX, also starting June 15, 2023.
Huong, born in 1985, has a master's degree in corporate finance and governance control from France’s Toulon University in partnership with Vietnam's Academy of Finance.
She has worked at HNX since 2007 and held the positions of deputy director of legal general department (2017-2018), deputy chief of office of the board of directors (2018-2021) and head of internal audit (2019-2021). Since October 2021, she has worked at the VNX as deputy chief of the office of the members' Council and deputy head of internal audit.
With the latest appointments, HNX's leaders currently include: Nguyen Duy Thinh, chairman of the members' council; Nguyen Anh Phong, general director; and four deputy general directors - Nguyen Tuan Anh, Do Van Tam, Do Duc Manh and Vu Thi Thuy Nga.
