Honda Vietnam rejects information Honda Mobilityland plans 600-ha tourism, entertainment, sports complex in southern Vietnam
Honda Vietnam on Friday rejected the information that Honda Mobilityland Corporation, a subsidiary of Japan’s Honda Motor Co., plans to build an international circuit in Tay Ninh province, towards developing a 600-hectare tourism, entertainment, and sports complex there.
"Honda Vietnam has verified this information with Honda Mobilityland, and the information is not true. Honda Mobilityland currently does not have any plans for such a project in Vietnam," the company stated on its fanpage.
The rebuttal comes as a surprise to local media as a release from Tay Ninh's authorities shows that Honda Mobilityland has such an intention. An existing article posted on Tay Ninh Online, a newspaper under the provincial Party Committee, has the same content.

According to the Tay Ninh administration's release, company representatives pitched the project to provincial leaders at their meeting in Tokyo on November 18. The Tay Ninh delegation was in Japan for a labor, investment and trade promotion program.
The complex is designed to host year-round events, including car and motorcycle racing, drifting, e-sports, music festivals, and technology exhibitions.
The project set stringent targets for emissions reduction, adherence to international safety standards, job creation, domestic and international visitor numbers, and boosting Tay Ninh’s profile in global media.
Honda Mobility expects the project to position Tay Ninh as a new regional entertainment and sports destination, modeled on its Suzuka Circuit and Mobility Resort Motegi in Japan, the release said.
Suzuka Circuit in Mie prefecture draws over 1.6 million visitors annually, and Mobility Resort Motegi in Tochigi prefecture attracts around 1 million visitors each year, generating more than ¥768 billion ($4.9 billion) in economic impact for Japan.
Both venues host numerous prestigious international races, including Formula 1 and MotoGP, and serve as the core of the Mobilityland model, featuring amusement parks, hotels, driver training centers, and technology exhibition spaces.
Deputy Chairman of the Tay Ninh People’s Committee Pham Tan Hoa lauded Honda Mobilityland’s proposal, noting that Tay Ninh offers favorable transport conditions for large-scale projects.
Key routes such as Ring Roads 3 and 4, the Ho Chi Minh City-Moc Bai Expressway, and regional connections within a 20 km radius make travel, transportation, and the attraction of international visitors more convenient, he added.
He said the project will be developed on infrastructure directly connected to HCMC and international border gates. At the same time, it can make use of local identity, integrating culture, cuisine, and famous landscapes such as Ba Den Mountain and Dong Thap Muoi region to create a unique tourism ecosystem combining sports, entertainment, and unique cultural experiences.
Provincial leaders introduced several potential partners and land plots for Honda Mobilityland to explore for project development.
The provincial People's Committee leaders hope that the parties will soon discuss related planning and investment models to realize the project. They commit to creating all favorable conditions in terms of policies and clean land funds, bringing long-term value to the parties.

Following the Tay Ninh delegation’s visit to Japan, the corporation will conduct on-site surveys to finalize the investment plan, paving the way for early project implementation, according to the release.
Tay Ninh and Long An provinces were merged in July to form the new Tay Ninh which borders Dong Nai, Dong Thap, HCMC, and Cambodia.
The new Tay Ninh province has four international border gates - Moc Bai, Xa Mat, Tan Nam, and Binh Hiep - along with four national border gates - Ka Tum, Chang Riec, Phuoc Tan, and My Quy Tay - and 13 auxiliary ones.
In the first nine months of 2025, Tay Ninh’s gross regional domestic product (GRDP) expanded by about 9.52%, the highest in the southeastern region and among the fastest-growing provinces nationwide.
