Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin said on Thursday that Indonesia had already secured a AUD130 million ($81.4 million) commitment from Australia. He noted that efforts will be made to find additional funding sources.
USAID has suspended its pledged assistance of $100 million to Indonesia, Budi said, adding that the amount would be redirected to a third party.
In 2023, USAID had allocated approximately $153 million for various initiatives in Indonesia, including anti-corruption, climate change mitigation, education, and health projects.
On February 3, the US government announced the suspension of USAID activities globally.
