Vietnamese conglomerate T&T Group is seeking to accelerate five projects in Bac Ninh while proposing two new developments in this northern province.

Provincial authorities met with T&T executives on Friday to review the progress of projects currently under development and discuss obstacles related to planning, land procedures, and investment approvals.

Among the projects is the VND2.55 trillion ($96.92 million) Tu Lan-Bich Son-Trung Son Industrial Park, spanning 150 hectares across Tu Lan, Van Ha and Viet Yen wards.

T&T is also pursuing four urban and mixed-use developments, including the Ngoi Con Ten new urban area and a regional healthcare and sports complex in Tan Chi and Chi Lang communes.

Other projects include a 133.5-hectare cultural tourism and commercial urban area and a 42-hectare service urban development, both in Van Ha ward.

The group said the projects remain in the legal completion phase but face hurdles involving investment procedures, urban planning approvals, land regulations, and housing development programs.

T&T requested provincial support to expedite administrative procedures and consider adjustments to investment policies and development plans to align projects with local planning priorities.

Beyond its existing portfolio, T&T proposed two additional projects in the province, the Huong Gian urban area in Tan Tien ward and a high-tech innovation and research park in Canh Thuy ward. The two projects will cover a total of 440 hectares.

In response to the firm's requests, provincial leaders reiterated their commitment to supporting strategic investors, adding that many planning and urban development bottlenecks had already been resolved and that agencies would work to shorten administrative processing times.

Officials also encouraged T&T to continue exploring large-scale landmark developments that could contribute to the local economic growth.

In seperate news, real estate developer Sun Group on Friday started work on a major road connecting Hanoi with the under-construction Gia Binh International Airport in Bac Ninh.

The 18.8-km road will be developed under a build-transfer (BT) model with total investment of VND25 trillion ($953.52 million).

Once completed, the route will create a direct transport corridor linking Gia Binh airport with the capital city, strengthening regional connectivity and supporting urban, industrial and logistics development.

Bac Ninh and Bac Giang provinces were merged last July to form the new Bac Ninh. The province is an industrial hub in northern Vietnam as it is home to production bases of major foreign investors, including Samsung, Foxconn, Luxshare, Hana Micron, and Meiko.
