Judge in Vinh Long province arrested for receiving bribes
Nguyen Tuyet Suong, deputy chief judge of Binh Minh town’s court in Vietnam's Vinh Long province, was caught red-handed accepting bribes in her office Tuesday.
Suong, 52, was arrested for receiving bribes from people related to a case being handled by the court, a senior judicial official told local press.

Initial denunciation information shows that in the process of accepting and resolving a civil case, Suong kept extending the settlement deadline, causing difficulties for the plaintiff.
She asked the plaintiff to pay VND50 million ($2,050) for bringing the case to a first instance trial.
The deputy chief judge of the town court was caught red-handed while receiving 40 million ($1,640) from the plaintiff in her office Tuesday morning.
