Kurz builds $40 mln coatings plant in Vietnam
Kurz Group, a major German company in hot-stamping and thin film technology, started construction of its $40 million inaugural facility in Vietnam on Tuesday, expecting investment for the project would soar to $100 million later.
The factory will cover 12 hectares in Becamex VSIP Industrial Park Binh Dinh in Binh Dinh province, half designated for the project’s first stage.

Phase one, expected to operate by the third quarter of 2023, is designed to supply 15 million square meters of hi-tech film and coating products a year.
Kurz said technologies and standards for the new plant are of the same levels to the German group’s 12 operational production sites worldwide.
The facility is the fourth German-invested project in the south-central province.
Coatings manufactured by Kurz are applied to carrier foils and used for a wide variety of products, including automotive components, cell phones, TVs, washing machines, furniture, packaging, books, textiles, bottle labels, and bank cards.
