Hung, 42, holds a master's degree in economics from Hanoi-based National Economics University and an MBA from the French Vietnamese Center of Management (CFVG).

He has nearly 20 years in senior management positions at leading private lender Techcombank, including regional manager, product development manager, business development manager, deputy head of personal banking, head of leadership development initiatives, and director of the bank's SMEs and retail banking risk management transformation.

Last December, he was appointed as Techcombank's deputy general director.

NCB's executive board now includes Ta Kieu Hung, general director, and two deputy general directors Hoang Thu Trang and Pham Thi Hien.

NCB, previously known as Navibank, has also agreed to part ways with deputy general director Duong Thi Le Ha following a personal request.

In the first quarter of this year, NCB reported an after-tax profit of VND4.4 billion ($187,000), down 78% year-on-year and net interest income of VND259.6 billion ($11.03 million), flat compared to the same period last year.

At the end of March, NCB's total assets hit VND82.93 trillion ($3.5 billion), down 7% compared to the beginning of the year, of which customer loans reached VND46.7 trillion ($1.98 billion).

Notably, the bank's term deposits of customers in the period reached more than VND67.47 trillion ($2.87 billion), the highest in the past six quarters.
