Vietnamese insurer AAA will continue investing in technology and it pursues digital transformation with an eye on occupying a top position in the country, the company’s new chairman says.

“We’re aiming at becoming one of the leading insurance companies in the Vietnamese market, as well as applying up-to-date technologies in insurance,” Dinh Hoai Chau said at the company’s extraordinary shareholders meeting Monday after he was elected the new chairman.

“We also expect to have AAA listed on the Vietnamese stock exchange in line with our set roadmap,” he added, without elaborating.

Chau replaces Nguyen Dinh Ngon, who has stepped down.

The company has voted seven people to its board of directors instead of the previous six. These include Nguyen Tung Lam as a board member and Tran Ngoc Tuan as an independent board member.

The meeting elected Dong Hai Ha as head of the supervisory board, and Le Thanh Tung as a supervisory board member.

AAA is part of Ho Chi Minh City-based Bamboo Capital Group JSC (BCG). The Vietnamese conglomerate has more than 30 subsidiaries and affiliates operating in banking and finance, agriculture, manufacturing, construction, commerce, infrastructure, real estate and renewable energy.

BCG is currently making preparations to invest in fintech as a fresh move to support its long-term growth.
