Bamboo Capital warns about illegal use of company images
Vietnam's privately-run conglomerate Bamboo Capital Group (BCG) has posted a warning that some individuals are illegally using the company’s images for profiteering and fraudulent activities online.
According to Bamboo Capital, a number of individuals are illegally using the "Bamboo Capital" brand, including the company name, abbreviations, logo, website address and information, and impersonating its employees to make illegal profits by fraudulently enticing internet users to perform online tasks in return for high salaries.
Those people are using a business registration certificate under the name "BCG Group", the name "Bamboo Capital Group International Corporation", Bamboo Capital Group's website address bamboocap.com.vn, and its logo to create credibility and approach victims online.
After being approached, the fraudsters add the victims to Facebook and Telegram groups with the promise that they would earn money by completing simple tasks during the day. At certain times of the day, the group launches tasks and pays "rewards" to victims for completing their first ones.
After gaining their trust, they ask victims to deposit money to continue performing tasks with higher rewards. Victims then deposit the money and cannot contact the fraudsters.
Immediately after receiving information about the scam, Bamboo Capital issued a notice on its official website and Facebook fanpage to confirm that the corporation is not involved in the above-mentioned fraudulent activities, and recommend shareholders and investors to avoid falling into the trap.
According to the company, all employees working and receiving incomes from Bamboo Capital must go through a thorough recruitment process and sign a labor contract in accordance with the law. Bamboo Capital does not have any program to recruit collaborators to perform online tasks on Telegram or Facebook groups.
It added that after receiving information about the illegal use of images and information of Bamboo Capital Group, the company reported the case to the police and other relevant authorities for investigation. Victims of the group can contact [email protected] for assistance.
Information about Bamboo Capital Group's business activities is updated on two official channels: website https://bamboocap.com.vn and fanpage https://facebook.com/BambooCapitalGroup. Shareholders, investors and customers of Bamboo Capital should follow these two channels to access accurate information from the company, avoiding fake websites and groups using similar names.
Forms of internet fraud are becoming increasingly sophisticated. To prevent them, the Criminal Police Department (C02) under the Ministry of Public Security has recommended internet users to avoid online tasks or virtual orders on e-commerce sites. They should not click on strange links sent via SMS, Zalo, Facebook or Telegram, or provide card numbers, card verification codes (CVC2) or one time passwords (OTP) to any individual or link, including those claiming to be bank employees or police officers.
