Quang Ninh vice chairman appointed deputy finance minister

Bui Van Khang, Vice Chairman of Vietnam’s northern province of Quang Ninh, has been assigned to be Deputy Minister of Finance, according to a prime ministerial decision announced Monday.

Khang, 53, holds a master's degree in public administration and a bachelor’s degree in law.

He was director of Quang Ninh’s Department of Customs before being promoted to a vice chairman of the province in January 2019.

Besides Khang, the Ministry of Finance, headed by Minister Ho Duc Phoc, has four other deputy ministers namely Nguyen Duc Chi, Vo Thanh Hung, Cao Anh Tuan, and Le Tan Can, who assumed his latest position last month.

On Monday, the Quang Ninh People’s Council elected Nghiem Xuan Cuong, secretary of the Uong Bi town Party Committee, to replace Khang.
