Vietnam Politburo appoints new head for Party Central Committee’s Organization Commission

Le Minh Hung, chief of the Party Central Committee (PCC) Office, was assigned by the Politburo, the country's highest decision-making body, to be head of the PCC’s Organization Commission on Thursday.

Hung is one of the four new Politburo members elected by the PCC on the same day. The other three are Nguyen Trong Nghia, Bui Thi Minh Hoai, and Do Van Chien.

Hung, 54, from Huong Son district, Ha Tinh province, worked for 20 years at the State Bank of Vietnam, holding various senior positions. In April 2016, he was appointed SBV Governor at the age of 46, becoming the youngest-ever head of the central bank.

In November 2021, he was assigned by the Politburo to be chief of the Party Central Committee Office. In the Secretariat of the 13th Party Central Committee, Hung is the only member born in the 1970s - the youngest.

The Organization Commission is an advisory and assisting agency of the Party Central Committee, directly and regularly advising and assisting the Politburo and the Secretariat in organizing and building the Party and political system. It also specializes in organizational and personnel work, Party members’ affairs, and protection of internal politics of the Party Central Committee.
